Please join us, on Thursday, April 16, 2015, when Utah’s Jewish community will take the time to remember the tragic events of a not too distant past. Here, as in Israel and Jewish communities around the world, we will pay tribute to the millions who lost their lives during the devastating time of the Holocaust.  In addition to paying tribute to six million Jews who perished along with millions of others, we continue a tradition of honoring survivors, partisans, witnesses and Allied veterans of WWII.

We are honored to have Dr. Noemi Mattis, as our keynote speaker for this year’s ceremony. Dr. Mattis, whose parents were leaders of the Belgian Jewish resistance movement during WWII, will share her story of being a hidden child and cared for by families whom she did not know, who were willing to take great risks on her behalf.  We will also hear poems from the 6th to 12th grade winners of our fifth annual Holocaust Literary Contest.
