Major Announcement
The United Jewish Federation of Utah recently received a grant from the David and Janet Polak Foundation for $5,000. The David and Janet Polak Foundation understands the impact of PJ Library on the Jewish future; this grant’s focus is to enroll as many children as possible in PJ Library.
Utah was one of 15 recipients in North America and around the globe for funding in support of the growth of PJ Library. PJ Library is an award-winning program of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, providing high-quality, age-appropriate Jewish books to children each month in the US, Canada, Russia, and 25 other countries. PJ Library and its sister program in Israel, Sifriyat Pijama, currently reach 680,000 children and their families.
According to Alex Shapiro, Executive Director, “This grant, so needed at this challenging time, allows us to expand our outreach to families raising Jewish children in Utah, through PJ Library. Reaching and then providing excellent programs to engage families through PJ Library is a high priority for our Jewish community. We believe that PJ Library is essential to grow and sustain our Jewish community into the future.”
