Federation Assumes Administration of Hillel for Utah

The United Jewish Federation of Utah is pleased to announce that it will be assuming the administration and operation of Hillel for Utah effective July 1, 2023. This decision comes on the heels of the retirement of Hillel for Utah’s founding director, Dana Tumpowsky.

The Federation has long been a partner and supporter of Hillel for Utah since the organization began in 2011 as an affiliate of Hillel International. Through innovative programming and living its mission of empowering students and inspiring Jewish life on campus, Hillel for Utah has grown to engage over 200 students annually on campuses around our state. The Federation is committed to supporting the students, the long-term growth of Hillel, and the very important connection to Jewish community it provides.

Along with this transition, we are proud to announce Elana Fauth has been named the new Managing Director and will begin that role when Dana Tumpowsky retires at the end of June. Her experience during her four years with Hillel for Utah, first as a Springboard Fellow, and most recently as Director of Student Life, will be invaluable as Hillel continues to strengthen and grow.

Founded through the philanthropy and vision of Adam Bronfman, Hillel for Utah is considered a leader in the Hillel movement and has produced a remarkable number of students who have gone on to contribute to the fabric of our local Jewish community, as well as working as leaders in Jewish communities and organizations nationwide. We thank Adam and Dana for the ongoing impact their passion, drive and commitment will have on the Jewish community in the years ahead.
